Trade Justice Power Hour: The Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP)
The Biden administration is currently accepting public comments on what it should prioritize in the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) — an ongoing twelve-nation dialogue seeking to deepen economic collaboration and integration throughout the Western Hemisphere.
Surprising no one, corporate interests are trying to use APEP to establish trade rules that expand their power and profits at the expense of working people, consumers and the environment.
The Biden administration has repeatedly indicated, however, that APEP will NOT be another business-as-usual trade deal. Instead, they are specifically seeking input on how APEP’s trade track can help to better address labor rights, climate changes, critical minerals supply chains and indigenous rights in the region.
Please join our Executive Director Arthur Stamoulis during the July 18th Trade Justice Power Hour to learn more about APEP and how we can advocate for a new worker-centered, climate-friendly model of trade and cooperation.
